Activate Learning showcases talented young artists at National Art and Design Saturday Club exhibition at Somerset House

Activate Learning is proud to announce their cohort of National Art and Design Saturday Club students, aged 13–16, recently showcased their end-of-year projects at Somerset House.

This much-anticipated event featured an impressive array of artwork, reflecting the creativity and dedication of young artists across the Activate Learning group.

These clubs provide an enriching environment for young students to explore their artistic talents and develop new skills under the guidance of experienced instructors.

Work with art professionals and enhance your creativity

The National Art and Design Saturday Club is a free programme that provides students with the chance to work with professional artists and designers, gaining valuable insights into the creative industries. The club meets weekly on Saturdays, allowing students to immerse themselves in a variety of art and design disciplines, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital media.

Danielle Sterrenburg, Learning for Leisure Team Leader at Activate Learning, said: “This programme is a fantastic opportunity for young people to explore their artistic talents and gain valuable experience that will benefit them in their future studies and careers.

“Almost 10 years ago Activate Learning started their first National Art and Design Saturday Club at Banbury and Bicester College.
An amazing opportunity for young creatives to play, explore and discover their creative voice on Saturday mornings for free!

“The Graduation Event was brimming with happy young people and proud parents.”

Participants have the opportunity to:

  • Enhance their artistic skills – Through hands-on projects and expert guidance, students will develop their technical abilities and creative thinking.
  • Explore career pathways – By working with industry professionals, students will gain a deeper understanding of potential careers in art and design.
  • Showcase their work – Students will have the chance to exhibit their artwork in a national exhibition, celebrating their achievements and sharing their creativity with a wider audience.
  • Make new friends –  The National Art and Design Saturday Club fosters a sense of community, allowing young artists to connect with peers who share their passion for creativity.
