National Fashion and Business Saturday Club
Course overview
We run the National Fashion and Business Saturday Club at Reading College, as part of a national network created by the Sorrell Foundation and run by the Saturday Club Trust.
The Club gives young people in years 9,10 and 11 the unique opportunity to study Fashion and Business on Saturday mornings at Reading College, free of charge.
The aim is to nurture the young people’s talent and build their confidence and self-esteem.
The Club is equally suitable for boys and girls of all abilities with an interest in Fashion and Business.
National Fashion and Business Saturday Club is free and places go to students who want to expand their creative skills and are committed to attending on Saturday mornings.
All materials, equipment and educational visit costs for this course will be covered by Reading College.
The fashion business is an important part of the UK’s creative industries, and with its supply chains provide 880,000 jobs in a wide range of sub-sectors, which range from materials technology and trend forecasting to fashion journalism and retail management. The fashion industry is a great British success story, generating £28 billion for the economy each year.
Fashion courses at UK universities lead the world and are in demand globally.

The Club offers members the chance to explore their creativity, learn new skills and get to know the college environment. A variety of workshops a range of textile-design approaches, including tie-dye, appliqué, batik, screenprinting and embellishment.
Club members will receive 35 hours of expert tuition which includes the opportunity to take part in a wide range of stimulating activities based in Reading College’s specialist facilities, workshops and studios.
There are no formal assessments for this course.
National Fashion and Business Saturday Club is free and places go to students who want to expand their creative skills and are committed to every Saturday morning throughout the Spring and Summer term.
All materials, equipment and educational visit costs for this course will be covered by City of Oxford College.
