How many years have you been teaching?
I have been at Merrist Wood College for 4 years as Woodland Technical trainer, Practical Instructor, Resource Technician and Arboriculture Tutor. My qualifications include L3 Certificate in Education and Training, L3 Diploma in Countryside Management and NPTC Trainer and Assessor.
What do you enjoy about teaching adults?
I enjoy their enthusiasm and genuine interest in the subject area. They want to learn and to do well.
What got you into arboriculture?
My original training and education at Merrist Wood was inspired by volunteering with Surrey Wildlife Trust and my scouts group as a child.
What other passions do you have?
Mountain walking, running, classic Land Rovers, travel and expeditions.
