Activate Learning Adult Education is proud to announce the launch of its new Skills Bootcamp in Domestic Retrofit, designed to equip professionals in the construction trades with the essential knowledge and skills needed for modern energy-saving system installation.
This comprehensive eight-week programme has been designed exclusively for those in professional trades. It offers both Level 2 and Level 3 awards, covering a broad range of retrofit and energy efficiency measures for various building types.
This Skills Bootcamp in Retrofit will cover the Level 2 Award in Understanding Domestic Retrofit, along with Level 3 Award in Energy Efficiency Measures for Older and Traditional Buildings.
Geoff Coughlan, Director of Construction and Engineering at Activate Learning, said: “This bootcamp will help bridge the gap for those experienced tradespeople that are looking to upskill and join the retrofit challenge, we have specifically targeted older properties to meet the local housing stock needs in Surrey.”
Online tutor-led learning and a site visit
The course, which is a blend of online tutor-led learning and a practical site visit, aims to address the growing demand for skilled retrofit professionals and offers an opportunity to gain further technical knowledge and green technology skills.
It will enable learners to increase their knowledge to interpret domestic retrofit and health and safety information, identify the materials required for domestic retrofit work and the ability to access risk of damage in their work environment.
On completion of the programme, learners will understand how to carry out basic domestic retrofit installations and understand how to retrofit and apply energy efficiency measures to older housing stock.
The Skills Bootcamp in Domestic Retrofit is available for free to independent learners who are unemployed or not currently employed in a construction-related trade with full government funding.
For those already employed in industry, applications must be employer-supported with government subsidies offered.
