Electrical Installation Level 2 Diploma (P/T)

Course overview

This course is aimed at those employed in the electrical industry or those who intend to enter the industry. It is also suitable for applicants who are considering a career change.

Sessions are led by tutors from the industry with vast experience across the electro-technical field.

The programme consists of 4 online theory and 2 practical assessments related to the qualification units.

Please note: This qualification does not make candidates fully qualified electricians. Additional training will be required.

This course allows candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the electrotechnical sector. You’ll cover the following:

  • Health and Safety in Building Services Engineering
  • Principles of Electrical Science
  • Electrical Installations Technology
  • Installation of wiring systems and enclosures
  • Understanding how to communicate with others within building services engineering

 

The course will be delivered using various methods that will include some independent working outside of the hours spent at college.

There will be a practical portfolio that will be developed during the course as well as online and in-class exams.

You will need 4 GCSEs at grades 3 or above including English language and maths or achievement on a relevant Level 1 course plus GCSE English language and maths at grade 4.

 

On successful completion of this course, you could progress to a L3 Electrical Installations Diploma.

With employment, there is the potential of an NVQ and AM2 test towards full qualification. You might also consider an apprenticeship.

You will need to purchase/provide IEE On-Site Guide, steel capped footwear, study equipment such as pens, paper and scientific calculator.
