Jewellery: RING IN A DAY

Course overview

Spend a creative day in the workshop learning the principles of making jewellery with an experienced tutor in a supportive environment. Working with sterling silver, you will learn all the steps to create your silver ring with a professional finish and will be able to wear it home!

City of Oxford College offers a range of jewellery courses. This course is an excellent way to get started exploring a new hobby or to progress in to further learning.

Please note – Materials to make one silver ring are included in your course costs. If time allows, you will be able to purchase more metal from your tutor for a second project.

You will be guided by expert tutor Diana Estornel.

You’ll learn safe working practices and a skill-set of traditional jewellery making techniques, which can be applied to future projects if you wish to pursue jewellery making.

Please bring a notebook and pencil for jotting ring sizes etc.

Please wear flat shoes. No open toes or high heels are allowed as this can be a hazard in the workshop.

There will be a break for lunch, so please bring a packed lunch and a drink.

You may wish to bring an apron/overall although this is not essential.

You will need to bring:

  • a sketchbook and something to write with
  • an apron/wear old clothes that you don’t mind getting messy
  • there is a one-hour lunch break scheduled, so please bring a packed lunch with you

You must wear flat shoes as this is a safety requirement.

Silver will be available to purchase on the day.
