⭐ What is the Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE)?

The Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE) is the government's new way for people to access funding for higher-level skills. Launching for courses starting from January 2027, the LLE gives you the freedom to learn in a way that fits your life whether that’s taking a short 30-credit course, taking a number of short courses over time, or completing a full Level 4–6 qualification such as a Higher National Certificate/Diploma, Foundation Degree or a full Batchelors Degree

Activate Learning has been approved by the Department for Education to deliver LLE-funded short (30-credit) courses. From January 2027 we will be offering short, career-focused higher education courses across key areas such as Architecture, Construction, Digital Technologies including Cyber Security and Data Analytics and Leadership and Management.

🧭 Who is the LLE for?

It is for new and returning learners up to age 60, with funding available for both full-time and part-time study, including modules at Levels 4 to 6. If you have previously received funding, you can still use the LLE, with your entitlement reduced by the amount already received. So, it’s for you if you are:

  • Already at work, those who need to develop new skills - digital, leadership, green skills, technical transitions.
  • Looking to change your career.
  • Looking to get back into work.
  • Needing to balance study alongside other
