Want to learn what makes it possible for you to create computer software? Coding is a language that tells computers what action to perform, and this course is designed for anyone looking to gain an introduction to coding and how coding is used in practice for software development.

This is a fully online, self-directed, independent study course with assessor support and guidance. Students must have use of a laptop to complete this course and must be aged 19+ at the beginning of the academic year (31 August).
Eligibility Criteria – this course is FREE if you:
- aged 19+ and live in England, not within a non-funded postcode region
- are not currently enrolled on an apprenticeship
Do not have one of the following visa types:
- Student visa
- Holiday/visitor visa
- Skilled worker, health care worker, temporary worker, Global mobility or scale-up visa
- A visa that imposes restrictions on study
If you are not eligible, the fee is £579
