Course overview

This short course aims to identify the key features of effective signage within the animal industry and to engage visitors with conservation and animal education. It will consider the different components of signage communication to enhance engagement and accessibility, utilising various educational tools.

You will gain valuable insights on shaping and evaluating successful engagement plans and develop the skills to create engagement strategies that benefit both animals and their collections.

 

 

Largely theoretical in nature, this short course introduces key elements of signage and engagement within the animal industry, exploring the use of technology, gamification, and visual elements to engage a diverse range of audiences

  • This short course is taught over 1 day (9am – 4pm)
  • There are six live guided learning hours in total (with incremental breaks), which are taught by a specialist tutor
  • This is an online course and will be taught via Microsoft Teams
  • A variety of teaching and learning strategies are employed throughout this course, including interactive tutor-led lectures and group discussions
  • There is no summative assessment

This course is suitable for anyone interested in animal education or currently working in the industry as a beginner or at an intermediate level.
