Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care: Online

Course overview

This NCFE Diploma in Adult Care is designed for both new and experienced carers to enhance their knowledge, skills, and competence to excel in rewarding care roles. It covers core competencies and offers optional units, allowing you to tailor your learning to your interests and job context. Topics include person-centred care, your role, safeguarding, health and safety, mental health, and much more, ensuring you provide compassionate, high-quality care and follow best practices in supporting adults

You’ll acquire valuable knowledge and skills through a mix of mandatory and optional units, covering key areas such as communication, person-centred care, infection control, and more, all tailored to your specific role in the care sector. You’ll master best practices to excel in your duties whilst also developing new skills to handle the evolving demands of the sector. This ensures you’re well-prepared and confident in delivering compassionate, high-quality care.

Your learning journey will primarily be online, using a dedicated platform for accessing course materials, completing assignments, and tracking progress. You’ll receive personalised support from your coach through virtual Teams sessions, offering real-time guidance and face-to-face observations to assess your practical skills. The programme blends research, guided learning, and hands-on job experience, ensuring you effectively apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios.

Your assessment will include written work, observations, professional discussions, and Q&A sessions. Your Coach will evaluate the work you submit throughout the programme, ensuring you meet the required standards. Additionally, an Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) assessment will review your progress, followed by a final External Quality Assurance (EQA) check conducted by an independent Assessor to validate your achievements and ensure the highest quality of your qualification.

To enrol in this course, you must work in the care sector, as you’ll need to demonstrate competency and knowledge in real-world settings. Applicants must be over 16 years old and eligible to work in the UK. This hands-on approach ensures you can apply what you learn directly to your role, enhancing your skills and understanding practically and meaningfully.

To successfully complete the programme, you must have access to a laptop or computer and Microsoft Word. This is essential for opening course resources, completing assignments, and uploading documents. These tools will enable you to engage fully with the online learning platform, allowing you to access materials, participate in assessments, and communicate effectively with your coach. Ensuring you have these resources is crucial for a smooth and productive learning experience.
