Jewellery: Ring in a Day
Course overview
You will learn how to cut, texture, form and polish silver to create a unique, handmade silver ring.
If you enjoy the course and want to take your skills to the next level, following this course, you could progress to our six-week jewellery making course.
This workshop is designed for all abilities, from complete beginners to those who have experience making jewellery of some kind.
Teaching methods include:
- formal instruction
- discussion
- individual tuition
- practical demonstration
- practical experience
The tutor will work one-to-one with you, as well as in groups, to help you with designing and perfecting your ring-making skills and techniques.
You will have a silver ring to take home at the end of the workshop.
You will need to come with an idea of what you would like to make.
You will need to bring:
- a sketchbook and something to write with
- an apron/wear old clothes that you don’t mind getting messy
- there is a one-hour lunch break scheduled, so please bring a packed lunch with you
You must wear flat shoes as this is a safety requirement.
Silver will be available to purchase on the day.
