Course overview
This high-level course is for those who can converse confidently and proficiently in the language. If you are looking to maintain your level and improve it, this course is for you.

Your tutor will select the most appropriate resources including articles from the press, the internet, books and films to stimulate discussion and encourage debate.
Please note: this course does not run during the half-term/ end-of-term breaks.
Join our friendly fluent group and practise your speaking skills. You will maintain and expand your vocabulary by talking and expressing your opinions about current affairs, travelling, society, literature or cinema.
Our tutors will present you with varied content classes and will guide you through friendly debates and conversations using authentic newspapers, current affairs topics, dedicated websites, blogs and short films authentic films and graphic novels. These may vary depending on the learners’ ability and needs on the course.
This course does not lead to a formal qualification, but we are happy to discuss ways to take a formal qualification.
Teaching methods include:
- audio/visual stimulation
- teacher-led, formal instruction
- group and pair work
- discussions
You will have the chance to use the language in real-life situations through fun and engaging role-plays and lively group discussions.
You will also have access to your class learning resources through your college’s online account and will be advised on specialised websites for home learning.
Furthermore, you will get the opportunity to develop your language skills according to your own specific needs.
For this course, you will initially need a notebook and pens. Your tutor will let you know about textbooks and other learning materials.
