GCSE Results Day 2026 success for Activate Learning’s Online GCSE students with 98.4% pass rate

GCSE Results Day 2026 success for Activate Learning’s Online GCSE students with 98.4% pass rate

Activate Learning Online GCSE English and maths students are celebrating today after collecting their GCSE exam results, with 98.4% achieving a pass in this year’s exams.

Many online GCSE students are learners who resit maths, English or both, to continue in education or progress their career.

This includes mature students who need these GCSEs to progress in the workplace, learners who want to retrain, learn new skills or may have missed the chance to go to university and want to study at degree level.

Paul Emberlin, Group Director for Online Faculty at Activate Learning, said: “Results days are always some of my favourite days of the year, where we get to celebrate the successes of our online learners and acknowledge the incredible work of our tutors and teams across the country.

“Returning to study as an adult learner takes courage and each learner, many of whom have had to overcome significant barriers and balance work, family and personal commitments, can take huge pride in their achievements today.

“This year, we have again seen our learners achieve incredible results. We are immensely proud of their commitment to improving their English and maths skills and we take huge delight in the fact that through our online delivery we’ve been able to support them on their journey to further education, career progression and greater self-confidence.

“Our Learning Philosophy-led online learning experience is designed to create not just academic success, but a transformative experience that equips students with the skills and mindset to thrive in their futures. We can’t wait to hear of all the amazing things they now go onto do. They all have such bright futures.”

Dr Fumiko Pescott, Curriculum Manager for Online English and maths, said: “Alongside our teams, we feel privileged to have been part of our adult learners’ English and maths journey. Many have balanced their studies with work and family commitments, learning online throughout the year and travelling significant distances to sit their exams.

“For many, these qualifications represent an important milestone, opening doors to career progression, further study and personal enrichment. We are delighted to celebrate their achievements today.

“Regardless of the grade they have achieved, the skills, knowledge and confidence they have gained are a testament to their hard work, resilience and determination. We wish them every success in their future endeavours.”

Mark Hughes studied GCSE English Online and is celebrating achieving a Grade 9.

Mark said: “It’s extraordinary and I am chuffed. I emailed my tutor and said is this real. I studied hard and with age comes experience and willingness to learn. I can move forward now, and this means I can finish my social work degree.

“Learning online was great for me because I work in the day and could focus in the evening and at the weekend. I studied and learned well with the help of Activate Learning. I went into this with no aspirations; I just hoped to do my best which took the pressure off.

“My Tutor, Deborah, was fantastic and I’d like to say a big thank you to her and I wish her well. Her style of teaching was very motivational, and it got the best out of me.

“I’d definitely recommend Farnham College to complete the exam. It was easy to find and the process on the day was easy to follow with helpful staff, which made me feel more relaxed.

“I am a mature student and never thought I’d have it in me to complete my English and my maths a few years ago. Time and the experience that brings definitely helped me settle into learning when I was ready. So, a message to those out there who have reached an age and don’t think they can do it. If I can, anyone can!”

Mark now hopes to use this qualification to complete his social work degree he started in 2021 and looks forward to celebrating with his daughter who also got her GCSE results this morning with a well-earned coffee.
