Isabella Bagwell: Sewing and Textiles Tutor

“It’s fulfilling to watch individuals gain confidence and explore being creative.”

After University, Isabella spent four years in design and development roles in the fashion and textiles sector. She’s been teaching at Activate Learning for the past two years, using her industry experience. Prior to this, she also led various workshops in the field, further expanding her teaching expertise over the years.

She enjoys introducing new skills to students. Many of her students have had some exposure to sewing in the past at school, and its rewarding to bring these life skills back and further develop them. She finds it fulfilling to watch individuals gain confidence and explore being creative.

Isabella’s mother worked in costume design when she was growing up, so she was introduced to textiles from a young age. She then went on to study an Arts Foundation at Banbury College and went on to achieve a BA in Textile Design from Central Saint Martins.

If you’re interested in learning practical skills to create clothing for yourself or others, the techniques you’ll acquire in Isabella’s classes will be easily transferable to any of your future sewing projects, giving you a skill for life.
