Cushion Comforts: Envelope Cushion Workshop (WHH)

You will cover: 

• How to select appropriate fabrics for home décor projects 
• Taking accurate measurements for a perfect fit 
• Creating a simple pattern for envelope-style cushion covers 
• Calculating fabric requirements for different cushion sizes
• Professional cutting and pinning techniques 
• Straight and accurate machine sewing 
• Creating crisp corners and clean edges 
• Proper finishing techniques for durability 
• Simple embellishment ideas to personalise your project 

This workshop runs from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch break.

There is an emphasis on hands-on, supportive learning in a relaxed environment. 

Morning session: Fabric selection discussion, measuring, pattern creation, and cutting 

Afternoon session: Construction techniques, sewing, finishing, and cushion assembly 

You will benefit from: 

• Demonstration of each step followed by hands-on practice 

• Small class size ensuring personalised attention 

• Step-by-step printed guide to use during the workshop and take home 

• Troubleshooting tips throughout the day 

All sewing machines and specialised equipment will be provided. 

No prior sewing experience required, though basic familiarity with sewing machines is helpful. 

You will need to bring along: 

• 1 yard of medium-weight fabric (cotton, linen blend, or light upholstery fabric recommended) or we can provide fabric at a cost of an additional £5 (please bring cash) 

• 16″ or 18″ square cushion pad (or your preferred size) 

• your lunch and refreshments 

Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. 

After mastering the envelope cushion, you can continue developing your home décor skills by enrolling on our Creative Sewing Adventures courses or monthly Saturday workshops.

Free parking is available onsite.
