Week 1: Induction and Introduction to Project Team Roles & Responsibilities
Week 2: Interpreting and Understanding Design Documents for Site
Week 3: Health & Safety Documentation – Reading, interpreting, and creating key site safety documents
Week 4: Communications Masterclass and Toolbox Talks delivery
Week 5: Project Management Documents – Understanding and applying Gantt charts, programmes of work, and resource planning
Week 6: Team Management – Practical skills for leading teams, giving feedback, handling difficult conversations, and managing behaviours
Week 7: Site Documents – Creation and understanding of site management materials, including Traffic Management Plans
Week 8: Holding Site Meetings – Taking minutes, active listening, and understanding different perspectives

Ongoing Support and Progression

Learners will receive ongoing support from tutors and industry coaches throughout the programme, including:

Individual coaching and feedback to support professional development

Career guidance and signposting to help identify next steps

Access to Hyphae’s digital learning platform for 12 months after completion to continue developing skills

Employability coaching for up to 6 months post-course to support career progression and achieve long-term success

About This Skills Bootcamp

Developed in partnership with industry employers, this Skills Bootcamp has been created to meet the growing need for capable, confident supervisors across the UK landscaping industry.

By equipping on-site landscapers and land-based professionals with the skills to lead teams, manage projects, and ensure quality and safety, this programme helps raise standards across the sector and supports long-term workforce development.

Delivered over 8 weeks, the course combines online tutor-led sessions with engaging, practical learning on campus — designed to fit around existing work commitments while offering valuable, career-boosting training.

Who This Bootcamp Is For

This Skills Bootcamp is designed for individuals who are currently employed or self-employed in the land-based or landscaping sector and want to progress into project supervision or site leadership roles.

We recognise that entry-level training in this field can be resource-intensive, requiring significant time and hands-on support. That’s why this programme focuses on those who already have industry experience and are ready to build on their existing skills to move into supervisory positions.

This strategic focus ensures that learners and employers alike benefit from targeted, high-quality training that drives standards, improves site efficiency, and develops confident, capable leaders.

This Skills Bootcamp has been developed in close collaboration with Hyphae Learning, founded by Jake Catling, an award-winning landscaping contractor with over 20 years of industry experience.

Hyphae Learning is dedicated to empowering landscapers with practical expertise and professional growth opportunities, helping them develop the skills needed to thrive in a modern, competitive industry. Jake has delivered hands-on training, masterclasses, and seminars across the UK, sharing his extensive knowledge of the landscaping profession.

Jake’s co-founder, Sam Grayson, is a high-performance coach who has worked with leading organisations including Chelsea FC, Goals Soccer Centres, Football Manager, and A-S-O UK. Sam brings expertise in leadership, mindset, and high-performance training from both sport and business sectors.

Together, they have developed industry-standard learning resources that are fully integrated into this Bootcamp’s guided learning format — ensuring every participant benefits from up-to-date, relevant, and practical training materials trusted across the UK landscaping sector.

This Skills Bootcamp is CPD accredited. Learners will earn formal CPD hours upon successful completion.
