Skills Bootcamp in Trade to Ready to Teach in Further Education

OVERVIEW

The Ready to Teach (Construction or Vocational Subjects) Skills Bootcamp is designed for industry professionals who want to move into Further Education (FE) teaching. Through online workshops, mentoring, observation, and teaching practice, learners will develop skills in lesson planning, delivery, assessment, inclusive teaching, and classroom management. The programme also provides employability support and progression routes into FE teaching roles and Level 3 or Level 5 teaching qualifications.

WHAT

This Skills Bootcamp will help you develop the skills and confidence to become a Further Education (FE) teacher. You will learn how to plan and deliver engaging lessons, support diverse learners, manage classroom behaviour, assess progress, and provide effective feedback. Through teaching practice, observation, coaching, and employability support, you will gain practical experience and be prepared to progress into FE teaching roles and further teaching qualifications.

HOW

The Bootcamp is 60 GLHs in length, delivered over 10 weeks.

  • 6 hours per week (blended: workshops, micro-teaching, mentoring, observation).
  • Workshops are 5.00 -8 pm (two three-hour workshops a week) online.

In-college observation of a vocational subject in week 8 to be organised on a 1:1 basis, based on the learner's availability.
