Turn Your Passion for Bikes into a Career 

Through a series of industry-recognised Cytech technical courses, you’ll gain the practical knowledge and skills needed to service and maintain all types of bicycles.

You’ll start with the fundamentals in Cytech Level 1, before progressing to the Cytech Level 2 qualification – regarded as the professional standard for cycle mechanics across the UK.

This comprehensive bootcamp is delivered online and in our fully equipped workshops at Merrist Wood College in Guildford, where you’ll work with professional tools and equipment in a supportive, hands-on learning environment.

What You’ll Learn

Course Structure

  • Cytech Level 1 Theory – 1 day (online)
  • Cytech Level 1 Practical – 2 days (Merrist Wood College, Guildford)
  • Cytech Level 2 Practical – 10 days (Merrist Wood College, Guildford)

Certification
To receive your official Cytech certification, you’ll complete all the above courses as part of the Skills Bootcamp.

Who Can Apply

This Skills Bootcamp is ideal for anyone aged 19 or over who:

  • Lives in Surrey
  • Has the right to work in the UK

You don’t need prior experience—just enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and a passion for cycling!

Cost and Funding

The Skills Bootcamp – Cycle Maintenance is completely free for individual learners. 

If your employer refers you, the course is still free to you, and the employer will only contribute a small percentage of the cost: 

  • Small or medium businesses: 10% contribution (£300) 
  • Large employers: 30% contribution (£1,000) 

This joint funding model makes the programme accessible for both individuals and businesses looking to grow their technical expertise.
