What subjects do you teach?

Practical arboriculture, including maintenance, felling, climbing, aerial tree work, wood chipper and stump grinder.

How many years have you been teaching?

I have been at Merrist Wood College for 18 years, covering associate tutor, training and assessor. My qualifications include national Diploma in Arboriculture L3, Arboriculture Association Technicians Certificate L3, NPTC Assessor, LANTRA Instructor, LOLER Inspector and LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection.

What do you enjoy about teaching adults?

Activate Learning learners are a pleasure to teach. I enjoy passing my knowledge and skills with a good sense of humour thrown in.

What got you into arboriculture?

I started in landscaping, but the love of the outdoors and an interest in trees led me into a career in arboriculture.

What other passions do you have?

Travel is a great passion and I get away as much as possible.

I enjoy passing on my knowledge, skills and experience. Bring your enthusiasm and sense of humour and get to grips with arboriculture.
