This AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) course is a mid-level accounting qualification, ideal for anyone who is looking to advance their existing knowledge of accounting.
This flexible course is delivered in partnership with Mindful EducationLinks to an external site. and combines online learning with a tutor led lesson weekly (AAT L3) or fortnightly (AAT L2) in the virtual classroom.
Once enrolled, you will receive the log in details for Activate Learning via email. You will find the AAT - Online and Virtual Campus course Tile on your Activate learning Online Dashboard. Please click on the course tile and it should open a page 3 tabs:
Course Guide: This provides you information on what and how you will learn. You will also find the Learning planner which will provide you information on units that will be covered, online lesson dates as well as approximate exam dates. The exams will be written in person at the exam centre you chose at the time of enrolment.
Classroom Learning: Here you will find the link to the Mindful Education Platform – for all your learning materials. You will receive a separate log in for Mindful Education the week your course starts. Please do try and log in and familiarise yourself with the platform once you have access to the Activate Learning Online and the Mindful Education Platforms. There will be an online induction session led by the course tutor to explain how the course is delivered and provide guidance on how to use the online learning materials effectively.
BigBlueButton: This is the tab to click to attend the induction and online lessons with your tutor. You will be emailed information on the date and time of induction the week before the course start date. Guidance on how to attend the online induction will also be provided.

First session and timetable: The first session (induction) will be on 7th October at 6pm. Lessons will be every week on a Monday from 6pm- 8pm. The session dates can be found in the Learning Planner within the Course Guide on Activate Learning Online.
This is a student-led course where you can complete your coursework at your own pace. As part of the course, you will study mandatory units covering both knowledge and skills.
Once enrolled, you will receive the log in details for Activate Learning via email. You will find the Computerised - Online course Tile on your Activate learning Online Dashboard. Please click on the course tile and it should open a page 3 orange tabs:
Course Guide: This provides you information on how you will learn, how you will be assessed and the certificate you will receive on completion.
Sage: You will not be able to access the materials from Sage till after the induction session. There will be an induction session in the first week of the course starting after which you will be sent log in details to be able to access the Sage course materials.
BigBlueButton: This is the tab to click to attend the induction with your tutor who will guide you through the course. You will be emailed information on the date and time of induction the week before the course start date. Guidance on how to attend the online induction will also be provided.

You will not be able to access the materials from Sage till after the induction session. There will be an induction session in the first week of the course starting after which you will be sent log in details to be able to access the Sage course materials.
All Access to HE Diplomas share the following features: A Diploma consists of a maximum of 60 credits, including 15 ungraded credits and 45 graded credits. The graded credits are awarded solely for academic content. You can find this information on your ALO homepage under the course guide and assessment schedule.
The course is structured for independent, self-directed study with excellent tutor support, allowing you to balance learning around work and family commitments. You have the flexibility to study at your own pace, with guidance from highly qualified tutors, many of whom hold Master’s and Doctorate degrees. The course is delivered to a high standard, aligned with our award-winning learning philosophy. You will study one subject at a time, supported by a specialist tutor, and have access to a comprehensive virtual learning environment and learning materials.
Each unit will also include webinars, which we strongly recommend you attend. However, if you are unable to do so, these sessions will be recorded for you to access at your convenience.
Please note that each module runs in sequence, with one unit released at a time. While you have the flexibility to study around your personal schedule, it's important to adhere to the submission deadlines for each unit. You have the necessary support to complete the course, but regular communication with your tutors is key to your success.
The first webinar will take place week commencing the 19th of August 2024.
All materials are available on ALO, and any additional materials will be provided by your tutors. However, as this is a self-study course with tutor support, we encourage you to supplement your learning by reading around the subject using journals, books, and approved websites.
