This is a unique opportunity, don’t miss out!

In this one-day workshop, hosted by Hattie Speed of This Girl Makes, a limited number of participants will gain a practical introduction to joinery, and how to design and make with wood. This session explores the design process in a practical and engaging way by working directly with the material, with all tools and materials provided, as well as a 30-minute refreshment break. Open to all who identify as women, this course aims to inspire, empower and introduce you to the joys of woodwork! Appropriate for beginners, families, craftspeople from other disciplines, or artists looking to expand their practice. Come and have a go!

Rycotewood Furniture Centre has been delivering furniture training in Oxfordshire since 1938. Located at City of Oxford College since 2004, it is a renowned centre of excellence.

You will learn through a variety of methods, including:

  • formal instruction
  • individual tuition
  • practical demonstration
  • practical experience

This workshop is open to all people over the age of 12 who identify as a woman. Family members are welcome! No previous experience required, just enthusiasm and the willingness to experiment and learn.
