Quilting – hand and machine applique techniques
Course overview
This course will provide you with an introduction to different applique methods, including needle-turn applique, fusible web applique, and techniques for circles and bias strips.
You will have the opportunity to try different methods ove rthe first two classes and work on your own project for the last two classes,with support from the tutor.
At the end of the course you will have learned different techniques, experimented with different materials, and completed a project for your home, such as a cushion or wall hanging.
Sewing machines and basic sewing kits are provided, although you may bring along your own if you prefer.
Please bring the following to your classes:
- Rotary cutter and quilting ruler, in inches
- Fabric you would like to use (some fabric will be provided for demonstrations)
- High-quality matching thread, such as 50 wt 100% cotton
- Pen and paper
