Dive into the joyful world of holiday crafting with our one-day workshop where you’ll design and create your very own Christmas stockings. Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or a complete beginner, this workshop promises to infuse the spirit of the season into your crafting journey.

Discover two distinct approaches to construction; one utilising modern sewing machines for precision, and the other embracing the timeless charm of hand stitching. You’ll be empowered to create stunning designs that reflect your personal style, making stockings that will become cherished family heirlooms for years to come.

This workshop isn’t just about crafting; it’s about creating memories and fostering the holiday spirit. Suitable for adults of all skill levels, join us as we guide you through every step of the process, from selecting fabrics to mastering quilting techniques. By the end of the day, you’ll not only take home beautifully crafted stockings but also a newfound confidence in your crafting abilities.

Please note: This course is suitable for those age 12+ if accompanied by an adult. Please book two places if you both want to participate in the workshop.

 

Immerse yourself in the creative process as you make design decisions, cut and join fabric pieces, add quilting and complete the construction of your individual stocking.

You will take home at least one finished Christmas stocking, designed and hand-made by you! You might have time to get started on a second. We’re sure you’ll want to head home and make more for the whole family!

We recommend you have some experience using a sewing machine to make a straight stitch, but we will help you if you need to learn on the course.

Quilting rulers, mats, basic sewing kit and sewing machines will be provided. However, feel free to bring along your own materials if you prefer.

You will need to bring the following materials:

  • Quilting cotton fabric you want to use for your stocking e.g. 4 fat quarters of Christmas fabric
  • 5m quilting cotton fabric for lining and binding
  • Rotary cutter with a 45mm blade
  • Thread

If you prefer, Christmas Liberty Quilting Cotton fabric and coordinating cotton lining can be conveniently purchased from the instructor on the day for £25.
