Course overview

Over five weeks this very practical course will look at the principles of pack shot, product and still life photography for the likes of Amazon, Not on the High Street and other popular online retail outlets. Under the guidance of our expert tutor, you will experiment with various lighting techniques and the accessories commonly used in this field to produce high-quality product images for commercial and editorial use.

Suitable for beginners and those with experience this course is a great opportunity to enhance your photography and lighting skills within this popular and lucrative area of professional photography.

You will learn:

  • quality and direction of light
  • how to shoot a variety of objects including reflective, transparent and illuminated items
  • how to use flats and flags, dots and fingers, light tents and small sets including “flat lay”

Tutor demonstration/ presentation, group discussion, practical activities.

A modern camera that has a standard hot-shoe connector for external flash triggers. A variety of lenses or access to different focal lengths will be useful.

Objects/items to photography will be provided but participants can also bring their own.
