Photoshop workshop – Beginners through to Advanced
Under the guidance of our expert tutor during this practical two-day Adobe Photoshop workshop you will learn many techniques beginning with workspaces and tools, then progressing quickly into more advanced techniques including layers, blending modes and masking functions.
This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some experience of working with Photoshop.
How to set up custom workspaces, where menu items and panels are and which to use.
Colour and contrast adjustments (including setting black and white points). Retouching tools and options.
The key skills of transforming, selecting objects and using layers.
Using the history functions and history brush.
Advanced layer techniques e.g. adjustment layers, blending modes, layer masks, clipping masks.
Teaching methods include:
Tutor demonstration/ presentation and coaching, practical projects with given images and assets
A memory stick to copy and transfer files will be useful but not imperative.
John Rae has over 40 years of experience in the photographic industry and in teaching. He has been delivering Photography qualifications for over 10 years. He has an MA in Photography (University of West London) and a PG Cert in Creative Direction (Central St Martins, London). He is an Adobe Certified Expert in both Photoshop and Lightroom and in addition to teaching part time has a successful photography business working primarily with fashion and product photography.
He has a wealth of knowledge and skills gained from many years of working with clients and creative teams and is dedicated to sharing this with a new generation of professional digital photographers.
