Personalised Marbled Christmas Paper and Cards

Course overview

You will learn the basic techniques of how to use the inks and water to create your very own bespoke handmade cards and wrapping paper.

You will study different methods to help you understand and use this process safely and successfully, leaving with your own unique handmade cards and wrapping paper.

You will receive comprehensive demonstrations and be guided throughout the day by our expert tutor.

All abilities are welcome, the day is an opportunity to learn new and unique skills that you will be able to use at home.

Activate Learning offer a range of courses and workshops which take place throughout the year across our campuses in Berkshire.

There are a limited number of FREE places available on this course, for those aged 19 and over (at the start of the course) and who either have a mental health condition or difficulty, are employed and earning an annual salary less than £17,004 per annum, in receipt of state benefit in your own name and unemployed or working and earning less than £338 per month (or £541 for household claims), are a single parent, or have a social or emotional difficulty.

We will be exploring the works and techniques of a selection of artists that will inspire you.

Demonstrations will inform you of the effects that can be achieved when combining materials.

We will discuss the use of colour and how to get the best out of your colour combinations.

You will then have the opportunity to experiment with the materials and build your confidence and ability to manipulate materials.

Being introduced to a variety of techniques and then experimenting with your materials will build your confidence and your ability to further develop your skills.

Please bring a packed lunch (refreshments are available on site for a small cost)

Basic materials will be provided but you may wish to bring along the following:

  • old combs, knitting needles
  • card blanks
  • specialist paper
  • folder to take away your work at end of the day
  • wear old clothing or apron

Bring ideas of colours and simple shapes that you can help to inspire you.
