Always wanted to experiment with watercolour painting? Now’s your chance to learn how to make more imaginative use of washes and mark-making; enjoy the colour and fluidity of this beautiful medium and discover if you’d like to take it to the next level.

Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a complete beginner, this workshop offers an immersive experience where you can explore the expressive potential of watercolours and unlock your creative potential.

Under the expert guidance of our tutor, you’ll embark on a journey of discovery, learning essential techniques such as laying down delicate washes, mastering colour blending and mixing, and experimenting with wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry painting methods. Delve into the art of using wax resist techniques to add depth and dimension to your creations, allowing your imagination to flow freely onto the canvas.

 

Throughout the session, you’ll have the opportunity to work from a variety of inspiring images, including artist’s copies and direct observation, providing a rich tapestry of subjects to explore.

Our tutor will demonstrate key skills and techniques, offering personalised 1-1 support to help you refine your craft and unleash your artistic potential.

All materials, including paints, brushes, papers, and reference images, will be provided by your tutor, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable creative experience. Simply bring along your curiosity and an apron to protect your clothes as you delve into the world of watercolours.
