Oxford Art Safari – Exploring Creativity in Summer: ART SAFARI for JUNIORS!

Course overview

Get ready for an unforgettable day of creativity and imagination at our Oxford Art Safari for juniors—an immersive day designed exclusively for 7 to 11 year-olds! This exciting experience promises a day packed with fun, learning, and boundless artistic expression.

We’ll kick off the day with engaging warm-up activities crafted to spark creativity, including quick drawing exercises that set the stage for a day filled with artistic exploration. With our experienced art tutor leading the way, every child will receive step-by-step guidance and support to unleash their inner artist with confidence and inspiration.

 

Our experienced art tutor will provide step-by-step guidance and support, ensuring children feel confident and inspired as they bring their artistic visions to life in a supportive environment, with ample hands-on assistance and encouragement.

Children are encouraged to bring along their enthusiasm and a sense of adventure! While creativity knows no bounds, it’s always a good idea to wear sensible clothes that can handle a bit of artistic messiness.

Don’t forget to pack a nourishing lunch, a refillable water bottle, and any other refreshments to keep your young artist fuelled throughout the day.

TUTOR: Asma Mahmud Hashmi

Asma Mahmud Hashmi is a practising artist, educator, and curator. She earned her Master of Fine Arts from the University of Hawaii (USA) as a recipient of the East West Centre Graduate Degree Fellowship (1988-1992) and completed her undergraduate degree at the National College of Arts, Pakistan in 1986. She served as an Associate Professor at the Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture, Karachi.

Asma has showcased her work internationally in both group and solo exhibitions and has curated print portfolios and exhibitions in the UK, Pakistan, and the United States. Currently, she works as a tutor with Activate Learning and continues her artistic practice at Magdalen Road Studios in Oxford, UK, she is a member of the Oxford Printmakers.
