Interpersonal Counselling Skills Level 1 NCFE Award (Tuesday Evening)
Open to anyone over 21 with an interest in self development and acquiring practical helping or listening skills. Ideal for anyone wishing to progress to acquire counselling skills. ;Practical training in interpersonal and counselling skills, an exploration of professional issues like counselling ethics, confidentiality, working with diversity, personal development and theory.
With an increasing demand for knowledge of counselling skills and theory in hospitals, schools, GP and business settings the course provides and ideal knowledge base. The course is part of the full complement of counselling training qualifications available at Guildford College up to Counselling BA (Hons).

- skills training,
- experiential activities in large and small groups,
- discussion and personal reflection.
Homework: Weekly assignments varying throughout the duration of the course.
Between 3 – 5 hrs per week.
The courses are open to any mature (over 21) students with an interest in developing their understanding of counselling skills and theory. You must start at Level 1. Courses are validated through NCFE, under QCA Licence.
Candidates are also required to pass an interview and have an English assessment test – this will inform the college of any additional support candidates may need to complete the written element of the course.
Successful completion of the course forms a sound base from which to pursue counselling skills training at Level 2.
A copy of the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice is required.
