Designs from the Garden
A workshop inspired by gardens, a chance to create floral designs with the seasonal flowers found in your garden. You will create a hand held design and an additional arrangement.
Suitable for those interested in floral design and floristry, either newcomers or those with some previous experience.
At Merrist Wood College we pride ourselves on creating the balance between educating our customers on the technical aspects involved whilst still allowing individual flair and creativity to leave with a unique and personalised arrangement.
There are a limited number of FREE places available on this course, for those aged 19 and over (at the start of the course) and who either have a mental health condition or difficulty, are employed and earning an annual salary less than £17,004 per annum, in receipt of state benefit in your own name and unemployed or working and earning less than £338 per month (or £541 for household claims), are a single parent, or have a social or emotional difficulty. This is a practical, hands-on session in a dedicated floristry studio.
There are no formal entry requirements; all you need is a keen interest in the subject!
You will need to bring scissors and secateurs.
You may also wish to bring a camera to record the day and a box to take your designs home in.
All materials including flowers will be provided, as well as tea and coffee.
