Community Wellbeing: Planting up Containers for Summer
Save money and personalise your garden by creating your own summer planter! You will be taking home a planter at the end of the day.
Merrist Wood has a dedicated and historic Horticultural Department and our tutors all have expert industry experience. Attending a short course not only gives you new skills, it’s also a good way to have a go before a career change.
This is one of our Community Wellbeing courses.
Our Community Wellbeing programme offers a series of FREE courses to develop skills, knowledge, confidence and improve mental wellbeing for adults aged 19 and over. You are eligible for these funded places if you are aged 19 or over (at the start of the course) and either have a mental health condition or difficulty, are employed and earning an annual salary less than £17,004 per annum, in receipt of state benefit in your own name and unemployed or working and earning less than £338 per month (or £541 for household claims), are a single parent, or have a social or emotional difficulty. You will gain hands on, practical advice led by a member of our expert horticulture team.
This course is suitable for anybody with an interest in gardening and horticulture especially if your thinking of buying or revitalising your containers and baskets.
Please bring gardening gloves.
Further short courses in various aspects of horticulture and garden maintenance. Full or part-time study in horticulture with City and Guilds and the RHS qualifications at Merrist Wood.
