Transform your sewing practice into a journey of mindfulness and self-expression. Our unique community course combines the joy of creating beautiful handmade items with meditation techniques and mindful awareness.
Mindful Sewing — Where Creativity Meets Inner Peace is part of Activate Learning’s Community Wellbeing offer and aims to boost confidence and improve mental and emotional wellbeing. The sessions provide a wonderful opportunity to explore creativity, learn new techniques, and enjoy the power of expressing yourself through sewing. You’ll benefit from a supportive and inclusive environment, connecting with others who share your interest.
These carefull-designed sessions will incorporate:
• Guided mindfulness exercises tailored to sewing practice
• Step-by-step instruction in essential sewing techniques
Your expert tutor Emma Walton will demonstrate mindfulness techniques related to sewing. You will then be calmly guided through different sewing techniques and have opportunities to ask questions.
All basic materials will be provided and sessions will take place in a calm and nurturing space.
Once your confidence has grown, there are many options for you to consider. Activate Learning offers a wide variety of art courses, diplomas and degrees you can progress to, should you wish to pursue a career in the Creative Industries or simply explore your skills further.
