Ceramics for Young People (12-16)

Course overview

You will have a great sense of achievement and will feel proud of what you have accomplished, hopefully making some new friends along the way. You will also get to take home your own kiln fired and glazed handmade pieces!

Working in clay is great for taking time out of your busy life! It might even allow you to forget about any worries as you concentrate on your masterpiece. These workshops are also great if you are thinking of, or are taking GCSE Art and want to expand your artistic skills and knowledge of materials.

Experimentation is always encouraged and glorious failures will also be celebrated!

We will introduce you to hand made techniques such as pinch pots, slab work, coiling and surface decoration. No previous experience of working in clay is necessary. Basic materials will be provided.

You will learn from a tutor in informal groups of up to 12 learners so that you can be provided with ample support and encouragement.
