Course overview

This three-day course provides extra time for those students who do not use the Regulations very often and feel that they need more tuition before taking their exam. It may also be useful to Electrical Engineers who may not have taken a Regulations Exam before.

This City & Guilds 2382-22 – 18th Edition course is essential for anyone who works or is involved with electrical installations, especially those who work within the domestic and commercial markets. It is ideal for contact managers, designers, electrical engineers and installers, consultants, surveyors and other related construction trades. The course will ensure that you know all you need to know about the current standards and are working in compliance with the latest edition of the wiring regulations.

This course follows the syllabus set out by City & Guilds and ensures that learners have the knowledge and understanding needed to complete the City & Guilds examination which is taken on the last day of the course. Successful completion of the exam will award you with an internationally recognised City & Guilds Certificate in 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

The exam is a multiple-choice, open-book exam that is taken under exam conditions. You are able to refer to a clean copy of the IET Wiring Regulations book during the exam.

 

This intensive 3-day course is delivered in a classroom environment and is purely theory-based. It will guide you through the IET Wiring regulations, breaking down each topic into easy to understand modules.

This course will prepare you for the 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations exam.

The majority of students will require this qualification to continue working in the Electrical Industry.

To sit the examination you must have:

  • Photographic ID (either a passport or driving licence)
  • A copy of BS7671 (The IET Wiring Regulations) 18th Edition
  • A scientific calculator

The exam is a multiple-choice, open-book exam that is taken under exam conditions. You are able to refer to a clean copy of the IET Wiring Regulations book during the exam.

You should be working in the Electrical Industry as an Electrician or an Electrical Engineer. You should have served and Apprenticeship or Advanced Electrical study programme before taking this course.

Students must have their own copy of the IET Wiring Regulations.
