Supporting SEND is designed for adults who want to start or develop a career supporting children and young people in education.
You'll develop practical knowledge and skills to help you work effectively in a school environment, with a particular focus on supporting learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Through online workshops, practical activities and career-focused support, you'll explore areas including child development, Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), inclusive learning, supporting individuals and groups, collaborative working and adapting learning to meet individual needs.
There may also be opportunities for shadowing experience within an education setting, helping you gain additional insight into the role of a Teaching Assistant and see how the skills you are developing are applied in practice.
The programme will help you understand the role of a Teaching Assistant and prepare for your next steps into employment or further professional development.
